Telegram notifications in Saksi

Saksi saves Telegram notifications from chats, groups and channels. In one to one chats it can show proven edits and possible deletions. In groups and channels, changes are shown as Updated, and Saksi does not guess at deletions, to avoid false alarms.

Works with the notifications Telegram shows on your phone. Saksi is not affiliated with Telegram.

One to one chatsCopy link to this section

• New messages are saved with the text the notification shows.
• Message edited or Caption edited appears when the same sender and time show different text, with clear proof that it is the same message.
• Possible deletion (unconfirmed) appears when a message drops out of the notification while the rest stays the same.
• Telegram shows no deletion notice that Saksi uses, so a Telegram message is never labelled Deleted.

• New messages and posts are saved.
• Changes are labelled Updated, never as a proven edit, and raise no alert.
• No possible deletions. Channels rotate old posts out of their notifications all the time, so a missing post says nothing about deletion.
• When Telegram reconnects and shows a batch of older posts, Saksi treats them as already seen instead of new.

Telegram often shows a photo in its notification without giving Android a readable copy. Usually Saksi keeps the caption and a file reference. See Photos and files.

Tips for reliable captureCopy link to this section

• Keep notifications on for the chats you care about. Muted chats usually show no notification.
• If the chat is open on screen, Telegram often shows no notification.
• Keep message previews on in Telegram's notification settings, so the text is in the notification.
• Check Settings > Capture & Apps in Saksi to see when Saksi last saw a Telegram notification.
