Privacy and permissions

Your notification history stays on your phone. Which permissions Saksi uses, what can leave the phone, and what Saksi does not ask for.

Last reviewed October 21, 2026

Your notification history stays on your phone. It is not uploaded to Saksi servers. Sharing only happens when you choose to share.

No account, stored on your phone

  • Saksi has no sign up and no account.
  • Your notification and chat content is stored locally and is not uploaded to Saksi servers.
  • Your archive leaves your phone only when you choose to share something.

Permissions Saksi uses

PermissionWhy
Notification AccessTo read the notifications your phone shows and build your local history. You grant it in Android settings
NotificationsTo show Saksi alerts about edits and possible deletions. Optional
Internet accessAdded by Google libraries. Used for Google Play update checks and, only if you turn them on, usage analytics and crash reports. Saksi never uses it to send your history anywhere

What Saksi does not ask for

No access to your storage, contacts, SMS, location or microphone. No Accessibility service. No advertising ID.

What can leave your phone

  • A receipt or file you share yourself. The app you share with keeps its copy.
  • Only if you turn them on in Settings > Privacy & Permissions: usage analytics and crash reports, sent to Google's Firebase. They never include notification text, names, numbers or files.
  • For installs from Google Play, a check whether an update exists. It never reads your archive.
  • Google Play processes install and update information under Google's terms.

Where your data is kept

Your history is stored on your phone. Saved photos and files go to Saksi's own folder on your phone's storage. Android cloud backup is turned off for Saksi. On some phones, a direct phone to phone transfer can still copy app data, so use Delete all data first if you do not want your history copied to a new phone.

Alerts on the lock screen

Saksi alerts are marked private, so your lock screen settings decide whether their text shows. You can hide them from the lock screen or turn off message previews in Settings > Message alerts.

Use Saksi for your own phone

Saksi is made to keep a history of your own notifications on your own phone. Respect other people's privacy when you share anything Saksi saved.

You stay in control

  • Turn off any app in App Filter to stop saving it.
  • Older history is removed automatically. See How long history is kept.
  • Erase everything at any time. See Delete all data.
  • Uninstalling Saksi removes its data, as Android does for any app.
